Mapview Pty Ltd ("Mapview", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use our website (mapview.ai) and our mobile applications.
2. Information We Collect

- Account information, name, email address and, if you set one, a password. Everyday sign-in uses a single-use link emailed to you. Apple and Google sign-in are not currently available; if we add them we will update this policy
- Location data, with your permission, your device's location, used to show property search results near you and your position on the map. You can disable this in your device settings
- Push notification token, if you enable notifications, a device token so we can send alerts about saved properties and planning permits. You can disable notifications at any time
- Usage data, information about how you use our platform, including search queries, properties viewed, features used, and properties you save, compare or track
- AI interaction data, where AI-assisted features are available, your queries and the property context are processed to generate a response. We do not use your queries to train third-party models
- Device information, device type, operating system, browser type and IP address
- Payment information, in-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment card details
- Communications, information you provide when contacting our support team
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain and improve our services
- Process transactions and send related information
- Send administrative information and service updates
- Respond to your queries and provide customer support
- Monitor usage patterns to improve user experience
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorised activity
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with:
- Mapping and geocoding (Mapbox), receives location coordinates and address queries
- Property data providers (including Domain and state land registries), receive property addresses and suburb identifiers
- Business listings (Google Places) and network data (NBN Co), receive the property address or search location
- Suburb information (Wikipedia), receives the suburb name and state
- Email delivery (Resend), receives your email address and message content
- Payments, Apple and Google, who process in-app purchases on our behalf
- Cloud hosting, storage and content delivery, our hosting is located in Australia; we review and may change these providers as we grow
- Law enforcement or government authorities where required by law
The providers above are the ones we use today. We may change providers from time to time and will keep this list current.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption of data in transit, encryption of data at rest, secure authentication tokens, and access controls limiting employee access to personal data. Your data is stored on secure servers located in Australia, and some data is cached locally on your device. We may change our hosting providers or infrastructure from time to time; where that happens this policy continues to apply and we do not reduce the protections described here.
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of marketing communications

7. Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies and similar technologies for session management, security and to improve your experience. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and you can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Our mobile apps do not use browser cookies.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax or regulatory purposes.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data is stored in Australia. Some third-party service providers may process data outside Australia — for example mapping and geocoding, email delivery, and content delivery networks that serve data from edge locations worldwide. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles your data in accordance with Australian privacy standards.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
