From today, you can watch any property or area in Australia and receive instant notifications when planning activity occurs — new permit applications, permit decisions, zoning amendments, and heritage overlay changes.
Why Site Alerts Matter
Property professionals spend hours manually checking council portals, tracking DA lodgements, and monitoring competitor activity. That time should go elsewhere.
With Site Alerts, Mapview does the monitoring for you. Whether you’re a developer tracking a competing site, an agent keeping tabs on a listing, or a planner auditing approvals in your catchment — you’ll know the moment something changes.
How It Works
Setting up an alert takes under 30 seconds:
- Search for any address or draw a custom area on the map
- Click Add Alert in the property panel
- Choose what you want to be notified about: permit lodgements, decisions, zoning changes, or all activity
- Receive email notifications or in-app push alerts on iOS and Android
You can manage all your active alerts from the Alerts dashboard under your account settings.
What You Can Monitor
- Planning permit lodgements — the moment a DA or planning application hits council
- Permit decisions — approvals, refusals, and conditions issued
- Zoning amendments — local planning scheme changes affecting a property
- Heritage overlay additions — new overlays applied by council
- Title activity — when a title record is updated (available on Professional and Business plans)
Coverage
Site Alerts are available for properties across all Australian states and territories. The breadth of coverage depends on your plan:
- Free — up to 3 active alerts, email notifications only
- Professional — unlimited alerts, email + push notifications, 24-hour notification window
- Business — unlimited alerts, priority notifications, webhook delivery for system integrations
Getting Started
Site Alerts are live now for all users. Log in to your account, search for your first property, and click Add Alert. If you’re on the Free plan and need more coverage, upgrade to Professional to unlock unlimited monitoring.
